Stefano Pioli’s agent on move to Al Nassr: “Negotiation was very simple and fast” | OneFootball

Former Milan manager Stefano Pioli recently joined Al Nassr as the club’s boss some weeks ago and this came after his exit from the Serie A giants.

The move did take a while to go through, especially considering it seemed to have fallen through at one point. But Pioli has already managed multiple games for the club, who have played five games under the Italian, winning every game so far.

The start has been rather impressive and Pioli’s agent Valerio Giuffrida has now spoken to TMW about how the move came about, revealing that another Saudi side was also interested in the former Scudetto winning manager, but the talks with Al Nassr took place very quickly.

“When we thought we were on vacation, in early September, the first contacts with Al Nassr began. To tell the truth, they are not the first Saudi club we have spoken to this summer.

“When Hierro and Pioli spoke, they also found each other both empathetically and from a technical and sporting perspective, because they are two profoundly similar people. The negotiation was very simple and fast because on both sides there was no doubt that it was the right choice.”

At a point, Napoli also seemed keen on Pioli but they ended up signing Antonio Conte. Having said that, the new experience in another country could put Pioli in good stead and add more to his CV.
