Manchester City will entertain Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium this Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Mancunian giants managed to earn an impressive 3-1 win over Bournemouth recently, which should give them a ton of confidence ahead of this game.
Pep Guardiola will probably opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and could make some tweaks to his first XI for this contest. John Stones, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Savinho are all expected to play from the start of this game.
Gianluigi Donnarumma will feature in between the sticks for Man City after shipping in one goal in his last outing. John Stones will play alongside Ruben Dias at the heart of Guardiola’s defence as they hope to keep a solid shape on the defensive end of the field.
Matheus Nunes will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Rayan Ait-Nouri looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Josko Gvardiol will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Tijjani Reijnders and Nico Gonzalez will anchor the midfield for Man City as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and Savinho will play just ahead of them as part of Guardiola’s attack. All three of them would look to combine well and cause a lot of problems for the Dortmund defenders this Wednesday night.
Rodri and Bernardo Silva will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Erling Haaland will lead the line for Man City up top. The Norway international would be eager to keep his good form going by scoring against his old club this week.
Omar Marmoush will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Man City are in need of a goal by then.
