Sunderland and Leeds United are being linked with a move for Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott amid uncertainty over his Anfield future this summer.
Football Insider reports Liverpool could consider selling the 23-year-old if he fails to impress new head coach Andoni Iraola during pre-season.
Elliott has returned from a difficult loan at Aston Villa, where he made only nine appearances across all competitions and did not trigger the conditions for a permanent deal. He is understood to be keen to prove himself to Iraola.
Several clubs are monitoring his situation should a permanent exit become possible. Leeds are credited with interest, while Sunderland, Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Coventry City have also been tipped to explore a deal. His Premier League and Champions League experience is attractive, although finances could be an obstacle.
Valuations are said to range from €35 million to around €40 million, with €35 million equating to roughly £29.7 million at current rates. Sunderland are expected to assess multiple attacking options as Régis Le Bris strengthens for Premier League and Europa League football, and Elliott’s pre-season displays are likely to shape any decision.
