Sunderland contact Lazio over Mattéo Guendouzi move | OneFootball

Régis Le Bris teased a potential future move for France international Mattéo Guendouzi (26) last month. Sacha Tavolieri now reports that the Premier League side have made contact with their counterparts at Lazio regarding a potential move.

“I worked with him previously in Lorient, so we stay connected. But at the moment, it’s too early to speak about the January transfer window,” said Le Bris back in November, when asked specifically about a move for Guendouzi. 

Lazio’s valuation of Guendouzi revealed

Guendouzi made 26 appearances as a youngster at FC Lorient from 2016 to 2018, before moving to Premier League side Arsenal on a permanent deal. He was loaned out to Marseille during the 2021-2022 season, and made 38 appearances before signing permanently for Les Olympiens for two more seasons. He currently plays for Serie A outfit Lazio, where this season, he has made 12 appearances, scoring twice.

Tavolieri now reports that Sunderland have contacted Lazio, who value the player between €25-30m.
