Sunderland will visit Port Vale or Bristol City in the FA Cup fifth round after Monday evening’s draw. Victory would be worth £238,500. They reached the last 16 with a 1-0 win over Oxford United on Sunday.
According to Sunderland Echo, Vale and City will play their postponed fourth-round tie on Tuesday three March at 7.45pm after a waterlogged pitch. The winner will host Regis Le Bris’ side later that week.
Sunderland earned £121,500 for their third-round win over Everton, then another £127,000 for reaching round five.
A quarter-final win brings £477,000. Semi-finalists receive £1,060,000 if they win, while beaten sides take £530,000.
At Wembley, runners-up collect £1,060,000 and the winners bank £2,120,000. Going all the way would total £4,144,000 in prize money.
Broadcast picks add further income, £80,000 for live linear TV and £40,000 for discovery+ streams.
The fifth-round draw also paired Newcastle United with Manchester City, Leeds United with Norwich City, and Wrexham with Chelsea.
Wolverhampton Wanderers face Liverpool, West Ham United meet Brentford, and Fulham host Southampton, while Mansfield Town play Arsenal.
All ties are scheduled for the weekend of seven March.
