Dan Neil says his Ipswich Town loan has rekindled his hunger, while Anthony Patterson and Alan Browne also chase promotion and Simon Adingra targets the Champions League with Monaco.
“Not getting many chances in the Premier League this season was disappointing, but there’s definitely a little bit of fire in my belly to get back after the way it went at the start of the season.” He was speaking to Ipswich Town’s official matchday programme.
Kieran McKenna’s side sit third and a win at Charlton Athletic would move them into the automatic promotion places, taking Neil a step closer to reliving last year’s pride.
At Millwall, goalkeeper Anthony Patterson has five clean sheets in 12 as the Lions push for a surprise Premier League berth. Middlesbrough’s Alan Browne has 37 appearances, four goals and three assists, and has earned praise from head coach Kim Hellberg.
Simon Adingra left Sunderland for Monaco on loan in January after a quiet start on Wearside. He has three goals in 13 outings and featured in the Champions League play-off against Paris Saint-Germain.
In Germany, injuries have restricted Jenson Seelt to 10 Bundesliga games, including a DFB-Pokal red card. Arthur Masuaku has only four outings for Lens after injuries and a dismissal, Timothee Pembele has 10 Ligue 1 appearances for Le Havre with two starts, and Leo Hjelde has six for Sheffield United with one start.
Aji Alese made one substitute appearance for Portsmouth before a groin injury halted his loan.
