Sunderland are under pressure to dig deep or risk being left behind in the race for Frank Anguissa, as a move to Turkey could see his salary doubled.
The Black Cats beat the odds to experience a sensational campaign upon their return to the Premier League under Regis Le Bris.
They finished as high as seventh in the league table, ahead of the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, securing a Europa League spot for the next campaign.
The French boss is aiming for a big summer transfer window and high-impact targets are his priority to strengthen the team.
Adding more quality to the engine room is high on Sunderland’s agenda, after the likes of Granit Xhaka, Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra excelled after they were brought in last summer.

Sunderland have been credited with being in the race to sign Boca Juniors highly rated defensive midfielder Milton Delgado, but face Premier League competition for the Argentine.
Napoli’s Anguissa, who has Premier League experience under his belt, is also an option, and the Serie A giants are expected to open the door for a potential departure.

Galatasaray are interested too and, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, if Anguissa moves to Turkey then his salary ‘could double’.
It has been suggested that he earns €2.5m without bonuses and that could go up to the €5m mark in Turkey.
If Turkish sides are able to reach an agreement with the midfielder on personal terms, their only task would be convincing the Serie A giants with an offer.
His current contract runs for one more year at Napoli, who are ready to sacrifice him in order to secure their key targets in the upcoming window.
Anguissa brings a wealth of experience from spells in Ligue 1, La Liga, the Premier League, and Serie A, making him a tempting target for his suitors.
However, Sunderland could have an advantage in the race for the Cameroonian, as he is .
