Sunderland are weighing up a summer move for Almeria attacking midfielder Sergio Arribas, according to Sport Witness.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims Roma are also keen, identifying Arribas and Red Bull Salzburg’s Kerim Alajbegović as key targets as they plan for life without Paulo Dybala.

The Black Cats have begun shaping their window after sealing Premier League survival with wins over Leeds United and Newcastle United, with Jhon Lucumi, Clement Bischoff and Habib Keita among those linked.

A Real Madrid academy graduate, Arribas joined the Segunda Division club in 2023 in a reported £5m deal. He has 38 goals and 16 assists in 116 appearances, with 27 goal involvements in 33 games this season.

He was on Chelsea’s radar before moving to Almeria, and his form this season has reportedly caught the eye of Sunderland sporting director Florent Ghisolfi.

Dybala is out of contract at season’s end after four years at Roma, where he has 45 goals in 135 games and featured in the 2023 Europa League final defeat to Sevilla.
