Sunderland have a sizeable cohort out on loan across Europe and the EFL. According to Sunderland Echo, the club have placed players on the periphery of Regis Le Bris’ plans elsewhere to secure minutes.
Alan Browne has settled at promotion-chasing Middlesbrough, adding depth under Kim Hellberg and landing January’s Championship PFA Fans’ Player of the Month. Simon Adingra struck twice for AS Monaco in a 3-1 win over OGC Nice on Friday, only his second outing. Zak Johnson also scored his first senior goal in a 3-0 win over Wealdstone.
Anthony Patterson is yet to debut for Millwall, Alex Neil preferring Max Crocombe in wins over Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday. Arthur Masuaku has two cameos totalling 10 minutes for RC Lens, Timothee Pembele has four from the bench for Le Havre, and Leo Hjelde has two six-minute cameos for Sheffield United. Niall Huggins features fairly often for Wycombe, sometimes at right midfield, without nailing down a start.
Nazariy Rusyn has two goals in 15 outings as Arka Gdynia battle near the bottom. Luis Hemir has one in 12 for Moreirense in the Portuguese top flight, and Trey Ogunsuyi is goalless in five for Shrewsbury Town but is being trusted.
Jenson Seelt’s time at Wolfsburg has been injury-hit and he is sidelined again, with reports last week that a permanent move looks unlikely. Aji Alese’s Portsmouth spell ended after a career-ending muscular injury against Preston this month, and he has returned to Wearside for rehabilitation.
