Surprise Real Madrid star leads Xabi Alonso’s squad in tackles this season | OneFootball

A somewhat surprising member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has racked up a team-leading 13 tackles in league play thus far this season.

That’s according to Blancos statisticians ‘MadridMuse’, who point towards Arda Güler as the player in question.

Youngster Arda has of course proven himself one of the star performers of Real Madrid’s season to date.

A mainstay in the engine room setup of new manager Xabi Alonso, the Turk has responded with a string of stellar performances.

Arda has chiefly been hailed for his ability to link play, with his passing and vision of the highest standard.

As alluded to above, though, it is another aspect of the 20-year-old’s game which has this week given rise to a head-turning statistic.

As per the aforementioned Madrid Muse on X, Arda, with 13, joins Federico Valverde as the member of Xabi Alonso’s squad with the most tackles made in La Liga play in 2025/26.
