Tafari stamps LAFC series win over Real España, advances to Round of 16

LOS ANGELES – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continued with Los Angeles FC defeating Real CD España, 1-nil, in the Second Leg of their Round One series, with the MLS side advancing 7-1 on aggregate, on Tuesday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Nikosi Tafari handed LAFC the lead in the 64’, capitalizing on a rebound inside the box after an initial effort from Timothy Tillman was saved by Real España goalkeeper Luis López.
Real España had an opportunity to equalize from the penalty spot in the 90’, but the attempt from Jhow Benavídez was denied by LAFC goalkeeper Thomas Hasal.
Los Angeles FC will face reigning Concacaf Central American Cup champions LD Alajuelense in the Round of 16.
