Tammer Bany has not been selected in Jordan’s final World Cup squad, ending the West Brom attacker’s hopes of featuring this summer. According to ExpressAndStar.com, head coach Jamal Sellami confirmed his 26-man list on Tuesday without the 22-year-old.

Bany had switched allegiance at the start of this season and targeted the tournament in Canada, the United States and Mexico. Born in Denmark and also eligible for Palestine, he made his Jordan debut against Mali last November.

His club campaign stalled amid fitness problems after joining Albion 18 months ago. He required surgery on a serious thigh injury around the new year and has struggled for minutes.

Bany’s 70 minutes in friendlies for Jordan eclipsed his club time across four substitute outings, including 45 minutes in the final-day 2-1 defeat at bottom side Sheffield Wednesday.

Since arriving from Randers in a £3.3 million deal at the end of the 2025 winter window, he has made just eight substitute appearances. His move followed data-led recruitment under the previous sporting regime led by the now departed Andrew Nestor.

Jordan have qualified for the first time and are in group J with champions Argentina. Bany would have been the only England-based player in the squad and Albion’s sole World Cup representative. The squad’s only player from Europe’s top five leagues is captain Musa Al-Taamari of Rennes.
