Tanguy Ndombélé (28) has not been included in OGC Nice’s squad for the upcoming ‘League Phase’ of the UEFA Europa League.
Nice confirmed at the start of July that the Frenchman had undergone surgery on the problem. It is a problem that saw him sidelined for almost the entirety of the second half of the season. In January, the former Tottenham Hotspur revealed that he had been struggling with a sports hernia issue. Those problems continued and worsened over the second half of the season. He went from a peripheral figure to off the radar entirely. His last appearance in Ligue 1 dates back to the end of February.
Speaking at the end of July, Franck Haise said that he could not provide a return date for Ndombélé. He has yet to feature this season. His omission from Le Gym’s Europa League squad suggests that a return may not be close for the midfielder.
Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Mohamed Abdelmonem, both of whom suffered ACL injuries at the end of last season, also miss out.
