Igor Tudor will welcome back four players for our UEFA Champions League Round of 16, second leg against Atletico Madrid at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night (8pm UK).
Skipper Cristian Romero, Lucas Bergvall and Destiny Udogie all return from injury, while Micky van de Ven, who played in the first leg in Madrid, is available after missing Sunday’s Premier League draw at Liverpool due to suspension.
It’s a boost for Igor, who will have Lucas (out since January - 10 games) and Destiny (out since February - six games) available for the first time.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Igor reported: “Destiny and Lucas will be on the bench tomorrow - one part of the game, not too much because they just started training with us, but it's good to see them.
“Romero? He's there. He can play. Joao (Palhinha), no. Joao is a little bit worse, so he'll be for the next game, but Romero is in.”
Speaking later to SPURSPLAY, Igor added: “We’ve some good news, but also some bad news because Conor (Gallagher) is not here, and Dom (Solanke) has some small problems, so we’ll see tomorrow how he is. Also, Souza is not available (ineligible).
“So, we are very similar (to Liverpool on Sunday) in terms of numbers. If we see that Destiny and Lucas can play one small part of the game, okay, that’s a positive thing, to see new faces, good energy.
“Also, for sure, two or three more will come back for Nottingham Forest (on Sunday).”
