Sergi Canós has undergone surgery on a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, a serious injury that is set to keep him out until at least the end of the year.
The operation took place on Wednesday. He was hurt on 4 April against Cultural Leonesa, and the club said in a statement that vascular issues delayed the procedure until they were resolved with anticoagulant treatment.
The Valencia loanee had grown in importance under Fran Escribá, scoring two goals after the coach’s arrival. He has featured in 21 matches this season, with 12 starts.
It follows Tuesday’s surgery for Marcos André on a meniscus injury, after a campaign disrupted by muscular problems and the tear that he carried until going under the knife.
Valladolid’s season has been marred by serious setbacks. Guille Bueno, Noah Ohio and Tenés have all suffered anterior cruciate ligament ruptures.
