Terzic switched to a testing day at Lezama, combining a running block with sharp rondos and insisting on two-touch play. He drove intensity in each action, using English with some Spanish, with Álex Albistegi relaying instructions.

According to as.com, the programme includes daily 30-minute strength work in the gym and on pitch activation on the refurbished Campo 1, although Friday was reserved for tests. Cones, tape and metal mannequins were set out with precision, another hallmark of his approach.

Under the eye of physical coach David Casamichana and staff liaison Óscar de Marcos, both folded into the running groups, first-team players were spread out for continuous running. A lactate test gauged fatigue in this second session with San Millán in charge after the summer break.

De Marcos trotted alongside Canales and Gerenabarrena, while Casamichana formed a trio with Rego and Sannadi. Another group featured Yeray, Vivian, Djaló and Gift.

Yuri Berchiche and Álex Berenguer did not train with the group. Injured Andoni Gorosabel worked on Campo 5 with a rehabilitation coach.
