An AI tool explains the four teams it expects to be relegated into the fourth division come the end of this season.
The relegation fight is heating up in League One, with up to 10 teams facing the drop to League Two.
Port Vale are all-but down as they remain glued to the floor of the division as they continue their woeful league form going into the latter stages of the season.
Rotherham United, Wigan Athletic and Burton Albion are amongst a host of other clubs who could go down. Northampton Town have sacked Kevin Nolan, whilst Blackpool are far from safe and will need to close out the season well in order to guarantee safety. Leyton Orient continue to slip into trouble, too.
The finish to the League One season is set to produce heartbreak and euphoria during its closing act as we enter the final months of the footballing year.
With this in mind, we asked the AI tool ChatGPT to predict which teams will be playing their football in League Two next season.

Narrowly avoiding safety, Burton is predicted to finish 21st. This season marks another relegation battle for the side after narrowly avoiding the drop last season, finishing in 20th place.
Striker Jake Beesley has impressed so far this season, recording double-digit goals to keep the side in the hunt for a position outside the relegation zone. The rest of the side are lacking in firepower however, with the forward contributing to over a third of their league goals this campaign.
Recent defeats of Huddersfield Town and relegation rivals Rotherham have kept the Brewers afloat. However, they will need to put together a more consistent string of performances in order to guarantee their safety, with teams around them having games in hand.

Predicted to finish in 22nd place is Wigan. The Latics, despite being a top flight club 13 years ago, look likely to find themselves at the bottom of England's professional pyramid.
Yet another managerial sacking spelled the end for Ryan Lowe after a heavy 6-1 loss away at Peterborough during February. The side has called upon former player and manager Gary Caldwell, who previously managed them from October 2020 until July 2021, to steer the ship for the remainder of the campaign.
Wigan recorded a 1-0 victory over Luton Town during his first game in charge, and they've pulled themselves out of the bottom four at the time of writing. They will be hoping to capitalise on this new manager's bounce and gather some momentum as we head towards the final stretch of the season, but ChatGPT is seeing them drop back into the bottom four by the start of May.

Despite earning a solid mid-table position in League One last season, finishing in 13th place, Rotherham have struggled this year as they find themselves trapped at the bottom of the table.
The Millers have lost far more games than at this stage last season, despite playing fewer matches. Goalscoring is also an issue for the side despite a solid return of goals from striker Sam Nombe, with the side currently sitting on a negative goal difference.
Limited investment during the summer transfer window has been amplified by their injury woes during the season. Experienced forward Jordan Hugill and starting centre-back Jordan Holmes have both suffered extended periods on the sidelines.
With any hopes of momentum diminished through injury, it will be difficult for Rotherham to remain in the division come the end of the season, according to AI.

The side that AI expects to finish dead last is Port Vale, as they maintain their current position in 24th. The Valiants were promoted to the third tier after finishing second in League Two last season with an impressive 80 points.
They have struggled in their first season back in the division since 2024, sacking their manager, Darren Moore, in December, leaving Jon Brady to take over the position. This changed little, however, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Mansfield Town in the manager's league debut.
A 5-0 loss to Huddersfield Town earlier in the season was their heaviest defeat so far, with the club expected to remain at the bottom of the division for the remainder of the campaign in the eyes of AI.
Their official relegation, though, will be delayed due to their ongoing participation in the FA Cup, having stunned Premier League Sunderland to reach the quarter-finals. By March 10th, they'd only played 32 games, with the likes of Burton and Northampton having played four more.
The fixture pile-up will continue right through the season, which will give Vale hope of a great escape, yet you'd be forgiven for thinking the FA Cup money becomes a priority over staying in League One.
