The six players that are due to be missing from the Championship clash between Coventry City and Sheffield United.

It is a fascinating encounter at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday evening as league leading Coventry, fresh off the back of a first defeat of the campaign, welcome crisis club Sheffield United to the midlands.

Frank Lampard’s Coventry, who reached the play-off semi-finals last season, had begun with a 12-match unbeaten run of form in which they have scored for fun and looked like the very best team in the division by some distance.

However, they now come into this one on the back of a thrilling 3-2 defeat, in which they took the lead, at the Racecourse Ground against a mid-table Wrexham side in north Wales on Friday evening.

Sheffield United, on the other hand, succumbed to their tenth defeat of the Championship campaign on Saturday as Carlton Morris notched a hat-trick for Derby County in a 3-1 victory at Bramall Lane.

The Blades are three points adrift of safety in the bottom three, with Chris Wilder having an initial impact upon his return, replacing Ruben Selles, but last season’s play-off finalists do appear in disarray.

Ahead of what is an intriguing clash this week, this is a look at the absentees from the two sides, as Coventry look set to have both Bobby Thomas and Jay Dasilva available after injury and illness issues, whilst Tom Davies returned for the visitors at the weekend.

Oliver Dovin

Carl Rushworth was brought in on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer and he has enjoyed a magnificent start to the campaign with fellow goalkeeper Oliver Dovin suggested to be out until January due to an ACL injury.

Jack Rudoni

Key man Jack Rudoni has been missing for a while due to a calf injury but the Coventry attacking midfielder is hopeful of returning before the November international break, albeit Lampard still remained coy on an exact return date.

Sheffield United

Ollie Arblaster

Chris Wilder recently confirmed that midfielder Ollie Arblaster has returned to training after a lengthy layoff due to an ACL injury, but it will still be way too soon for him to feature against the league leaders this week.

Tahith Chong

United's summer signing Tahith Chong, who joined from Luton Town, was ruled out for up to six weeks about a month or so ago as a result of a knee injury sustained in his warm-up for a clash with Oxford United.

Ben Godfrey

Chris Wilder has remained tight-lipped with regards to the availability of Ben Godfrey. The Atalanta loanee missed a couple of games due to undisclosed personal reasons and he has remained out of the squad for around a month or so now.

Chris Wilder has confirmed that Gustavo Hamer is out of a knee brace and on the road to recovery. It remains too soon at the moment for him to be involved, but Wilder did confirm he should be available for the Steel City Derby against Sheffield Wednesday later this month.
