There are plenty of great club anthems in League One, but which one comes out on top in our top-seven rankings list?

There are plenty of so-called 'big clubs' playing their football in League One this season, and so there will always continue to be the debate on which club is the 'biggest'.

Former Premier League teams, Cardiff City, Bradford City, Reading, Wigan Athletic, and Bolton Wanderers are just some of the teams that will be looking to make their way back up the English football pyramid.

There are still some sizeable followings both home and away from fans of League One teams, and with plenty to play for from now until the end of the season, fans are likely to be in fine voice to support their team from the stands.

Club anthems are still vocally sung by plenty of fanbases in League One, and here at Football League World, we'll look into the top-seven best club anthems from clubs in the third tier.

7 ? ? Wigan Athletic - You Are My Sunshine

Wigan Athletic have their own version of 'You Are My Sunshine', which is a song that dates back to 1939 when The Pine Ridge Boys first recorded it.

The Latics are regularly heard chanting this both home and away, and plenty of other EFL clubs' supporters will have a similar version to fit their own team.

Wigan's supporters haven't changed much of the song itself, which is pleasantly surprising, as many other fans often tweak the original lyrics.

6 ? ? Blackpool - Blackpool Dream

It won't be at all surprising to hear that the 'Blackpool Dream' is a song purely focused on Blackpool, which makes it unique compared to some other club anthems in League One.

The song was originally released by The Nolans back in 1972, before being re-released to celebrate Blackpool's club history, which certainly went down well with the club's supporters.

The Tangerines have found it tough for much of the 2025/26 season, and will be hoping that the anthem can spark some much-needed life onto the pitch.

5 ? ? Peterborough United - Ohh When The Posh Go Steaming In

Peterborough United have their own spin on the famous 'Ohh When The Saints Go Marching In' song. The original was first released in 1923, after originally being written all the way back in 1896.

It's most famous version of the original song was recorded by Louis Armstrong in 1938, and plenty of teams have made their own version of this song, including the Posh.

The League One side have sung this song at many games, including plenty of trips to Wembley, where they have a hugely impressive record under the famous arch.

4 ? ? Lincoln City - The Dam Busters March

The Dam Busters March theme tune has become a regular with Lincoln City supporters, and they've previously been pictured doing actions with the song at both home and away matches.

In 2009, Lincoln City supporters voted to keep The Dam Busters March theme tune as the club's official anthem, and it's one that the majority of other football fans will know well.

The club has previously halted playing the song themselves due to recent world events, but it's a song that will remain in a positive light with Imps supporters.

3 ? ? Cardiff City - Hey Jude

The Beatles' 'Hey Jude' song is a regular for pre-match Cardiff City matches, both home and away. It's an easy one for the club's supporters to vocally get behind their team ahead of games, and often fires up fans before the first whistle.

The song was originally released in August 1968, and was a hit with fans of The Beatles, with it remaining a regular in football fan history nowadays.

The chorus of the song is often accompanied with Bluebirds fans waving their blue and white scarves over their heads, which creates a great spectacle.

With a return to the Championship looming for Cardiff, their fans will want to be as vocal as they can, as they look to give their side an extra edge.

Huddersfield Town are in at number two on the list, with their 'Smile A While' club anthem being one of the best in League One to date.

The original song ‘Till We Meet Again’ was a popular World War I song and G W Chappell created the adapted version of “The Town Anthem”, which was sung by Town fans ahead of their FA Cup Final match against Aston Villa in 1920 at Stamford Bridge.

The song was replaced by Alan Hinchliffe’s version, which was used for the Final Whistle video that the Club made in 1994. The song is still sung by Terriers' supporters both home and away.

Bradford City's 'Take Me Home, Midland Road' is a more than deserving winner of having the best club anthem in League One, with the song impressing travelling away support on a regular basis.

It's based around John Denver's 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' song, with Bradford City's rendition first being released in 2015, with a re-recording coming six years later.

The newer rendition was performed by a group of Bradford fans known as 'The Good Citizens', and has become a regular for pre-match preparations before the teams come out to the pitch for kick-off at Valley Parade.
