FLW has looked at the players likely to miss Tuesday's clash at The Valley.

Midweek action is back on the agenda for all 24 Championship sides, with a particularly intriguing clash at The Valley between Charlton Athletic and West Brom representing one of 12 encounters.

On Tuesday night, Ryan Mason will take his West Bromwich Albion squad to South London with the hope of recording a first away success since October 1st.

The Baggies will take on a Charlton Athletic side who have suffered defeat in just one of their past nine-second tier outings.

Both sides endured draws on home turf across the weekend, with the Addicks' fixture with Swansea City ending in a 1-1 scoreline, whilst Albion were held to a goalless encounter against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday lunchtime, a result which saw West Brom's opponents accumulate their first point since entering administration.

There are several experienced and creative players within the ranks capable of helping their particular side return to winning ways in SE7 on Tuesday.

However, Nathan Jones and Mason are likely to be without several others who fall into said category, and Football League World has looked at all seven of those.

Charlton Athletic

Reece Burke

The first of four potential absentees for Jones is versatile defender, Reece Burke.

After joining from Luton Town in the summer, the ex-West Ham academy graduate has made eight appearances so far, opening his account for Charlton against Sheffield Wednesday last month.

However, he was forced off against the Swans on Saturday at half-time with what is being described as a foot injury, and, subsequently, is a doubt to feature in midweek.

Amari'i Bell

His fellow ex-Luton-turned Charlton teammate, Amari'i Bell, was also forced off with what is reported to be a hamstring issue in Saturday's 1-1 draw, doing so just before the interval.

As such, Jones is facing a major dilemma when it comes to his defensive options against the Baggies, with Bell previously an ever-present in his side.

Josh Edwards

Another full-back currently sidelined is Josh Edwards, who picked up an ankle injury in the 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on September 27th after starting seven successive games.

The 25-year-old recently underwent surgery regarding the issue, but his absence is expected to be much more long-term.

Matty Godden

Matty Godden was a key reason behind Charlton's promotion with 18 goals last term. However, he is yet to feature this season after undergoing surgery for a knee issue.

Jones recently revealed that his striker is close to a return after suffering a setback in his recovery, although Tuesday's clash may come too soon.

West Bromwich Albion

Jayson Molumby

The first of three potentially continued omissions from the Albion ranks is combative midfielder, Jayson Molumby.

The 26-year-old initially sustained a muscle injury on duty with Republic of Ireland before aggravating the issue against Preston North End on October 18th.

Having missed the past three games, it remains to be seen whether he will return to action in midweek.

Toby Collyer

Toby Collyer's loan stint from Manchester United has been a frustrating one thus far, only made worse by a recent hamstring problem.

The 21-year-old has since missed three straight games, with Mason declaring that the Old Trafford prospect's minutes must be managed ahead of the gruelling and decisive winter period after suffering similar misfortunes with the Red Devils during his breakthrough campaign.

Jed Wallace

Another blow for the Baggies is the unavailability of club captain, Jed Wallace.

The 31-year-old suffered a muscle issue of his own against his old side, Millwall, in Albion's 3-0 defeat at The Den on October 4th, and hasn't returned to competitive action following the resumption of the second tier campaign post-international break.

He has been described as unavailable "in the short-term" by Mason, meaning he is unlikely to return until after the next two-week gap for international commitments.
