Real Madrid will head into the club’s clash with arch rivals Barcelona on Sunday without the services of a hefty eight players.

This comes amid the ongoing injury crisis in Los Blancos’ first-team setup.

The one source of good news for Álvaro Arbeloa comes between the posts, where Thibaut Courtois has been declared fit to play his part in the season’s final edition of El Clásico.

Moving into defence, though, the sidelined Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão and Ferland Mendy all remain unavailable.

So too are midfielders Arda Güler and Federico Valverde, whilst Dani Ceballos has again not been called up after falling out of favour with boss Arbeloa.

Finally, in the final third, the big news comes in the form of the absence of Kylian Mbappé, who has failed to recover from his muscular problems.

Long-term absentee Rodrygo, meanwhile, also remains on the treatment table in Spain’s capital.
