‘The best’ – Barcelona star speaks on Anthony Gordon signing | OneFootball

Barcelona star Dani Olmo has this weekend provided his take on the club’s recent signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

Attacker Gordon was of course unveiled as the first headline-grabbing summer addition to Hansi Flick’s Barca ranks late last month.

After the Blaugrana identified the Englishman as the ideal reinforcement to the club’s frontline, Deco and co. quickly thrashed out a big-money agreement with their Newcastle counterparts.

Gordon will add to a talent-packed crop of attacking stars in Catalunya’s capital, fresh off a 2nd successive La Liga title.

One such player set to link up with the explosive winger is the aforementioned Dani Olmo, who was on Saturday drawn on the arrival of his new teammate during an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

And the Spanish international made use of the opportunity to send a welcome message to Gordon, explaining:

”Ultimately, the best players have to play for Barça. Gordon is a signing that will raise the team’s level. We welcome him, of course, and wish him a good World Cup, although not against Spain. These are world-class players. Anyone that comes in to contribute and raise the team’s level will always be welcome.”
