As reported earlier today, FC Barcelona have met Pini Zahavi this week to begin discussions over a new contract for manager Hansi Flick.
The Catalans are very happy with how things are progressing under the German tactician and intend to keep him at the club beyond 2026, which is when his current deal expires.
Now, according to SPORT, Hansi Flick is fully open to extending his stay at FC Barcelona. A new deal is expected to be agreed soon, likely keeping him at the club until 2027. From there, his future will be evaluated on a year-to-year basis.
Flick sees his time at Barça as potentially the final chapter of his managerial career, one he hopes will be a winning era. He has little intention of extending his time on the touchline much further, having already fulfilled most of his professional ambitions.
Flick began his coaching career in 1996 with Bammental after hanging up his boots. Over the years, he has built an extensive and highly successful resume.

He managed Hoffenheim, held roles both on the bench and in the boardroom at RB Salzburg, and worked with the German Football Association before returning briefly to Hoffenheim. His trajectory led him to Bayern Munich, where he won every possible title.
After his historic spell at Bayern, Flick took on another dream job: managing the German national team, although he did not achieve the results he hoped for.
After stepping down from Germany, Flick waited patiently for the right opportunity abroad – ideally, a chance to coach Barcelona.
Flick has since proven to be a game-changer, injecting life into the squad and leading a revival that has seen the team play arguably the best football in Europe this season.
The 60-year-old originally signed a contract through 2026, giving him two years to launch his project. All signs now point to him extending that deal by at least one more season. Moving forward, he will evaluate his future on a seasonal basis.
Should he eventually leave Barcelona, it is highly likely that he will retire from coaching altogether.
