The laughable reason Liam Rosenior gave for Chelsea team huddle makes things worse | OneFootball

Liam Rosenior has made things worse with the reason he’s given for the Chelsea team huddle before games at the moment.

It’s created a lot of debate and criticism, but Rosenior has insisted that it is an idea that his players have come up with and something that they want to do. In my opinion, it does absolutely nothing and just creates more drama and focus on them when things go wrong.

They basically do their pre-match huddle talk in the centre circle over the match ball that is laid down ready for kick off in what has become a bizarre pre-match routine.

At first I didn’t think much of it, but the latest comments by Rosenior has drawn even more attention to it and has got people laughing at Chelsea doing it even more now.

Reporter Craig Hope posted on X after the game:

‘Liam Rosenior on huddle around referee: “My players made a decision that they wanted to be around the ball, to respect the ball.”‘

Hope also said:

‘This is weird & immature. Doesn’t reflect well on players, captain or manager. It seems deliberate.’

I think that’s a slight over reaction but also, he has a point here. And as you can see, all it does is create angry reactions and now, laughter in our faces. It’s just not needed and doesn’t give us anything extra.

In other news…

Rosenior also summed up Chelsea’s issues after yet another defeat on the pitch by saying they could be contained in two main “aspects.”

In a situation that has caused a lot of drama and debate, the manager also got side-tracked talking about the ridiculous pre-match huddle situation.
