Bruno Fernandes is chasing down the Premier League’s assist record across the final weeks of the Premier League campaign.

Fernandes has created 16 goals in the Premier League for Manchester United this season, a figure that has been bettered on only a handful of occasions.

The Portugal international has already set a new club record for Premier League assists in a campaign for Manchester United, surpassing David Beckham’s 15-assist mark during last weekend’s win over Aston Villa.

Fernandes now has eight games to record the five assists needed to take the single-season record outright.

The record currently belongs to former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry, who provided 20 assists in 2002/03, and ex-Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who matched that feat in 2019/20.
