He spoke to TNT Sports after the game and explained a little about his performance and the team’s showing as they got 3 important points.
“Like I said before the game. We knew the difficulties we had in the first game [against Bayern],” the winger said.
“We tried to work hard since then to manage some moments of the game. I think it was the resilience of the team which came through and we had a really good game. I think in the end we could have controlled things a little bit more with the quality we have, but we are really happy with the 3 points.”
“It’s a tough team to face, even at home, we knew that we had to work hard today. I think the team did really well, we learned a lot before the match from the Bayern game and we are really happy.
“I always try to improve and do well for the team and I think today we worked hard and we’re really happy. It’s really important to keep clean sheets, I think today we did a really good job in that. A win in this competition, we showed what we can do, and I think we can do much better.”
You can see Neto interviewed in the clip embedded here:
Neto was great tonight, showing off his usual qualities – direct, hard working, aggressive. For us, the only downside was that he stayed on for the full game. We need players like that as fresh as possible, and it’s a huge game coming up against Liverpool on Saturday.
