That was the assessment of Tottenham manager Thomas Frank last month, after watching the Paris Saint-Germain star take his team apart in the Champions League. Vitinha scored a hat-trick at the Parc des Princes, the latest example of his evolution into one of Europe’s most well-rounded players.

So far this season, the Portugal international has five goals and eight assists across all competitions, with just three players having laid on more goals across Europe’s top leagues.

Marcus Rashford – Barcelona (8)

Marcus Rashford’s renaissance continues in Barcelona, with the on-loan Manchester United forward enjoying his fresh start in Spain. Rashford has six goals and eight assists in just 14 starts across all competitions, averaging a goal involvement every 98.7 minutes.

Barcelona have the option to sign Rashford permanently for just €30m in the summer, a bargain fee based on his form this season.

Lamine Yamal – Barcelona (9)

Lamine Yamal sits just above his Barcelona teammate, with nine assists and counting for the teenager.

Yamal set a new record this week after setting up Jules Kounde to score during the club’s Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt. That assist was Yamal’s 14th career goal involvement in the competition, a record for a player aged 18 or under.

The man he eclipsed? A certain Kylian Mbappe.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Marseille (9)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is enjoying an Indian Summer in his second spell at Marseille. The 36-year-old has been directly involved in 17 goals already this season, including nine assists.

Only Kylian Mbappe has been involved in more goals in this season’s Champions League.

Michael Olise – Bayern Munich (11)

Out in front is the magical Michael Olise, the only footballer across Europe’s top-five leagues to reach 10+ assists so far this season.

Olise has been the chief creator in a Bayern Munich team bidding for treble success this season, providing a constant supply of ammunition to Harry Kane.
