The Serie C begins: complete guide to the league

The wait is almost over: after their debut in the Coppa Italia against Lumezzane, Inter U23 are preparing for the start of their Serie C campaign. The Club's new team, led by Stefano Vecchi has been placed in Group A of the Serie C Sky Wifi, the third professional tier of the Italian men's football league. With the official release of fixtures for the 2025/26 season, the Nerazzurri have discovered the details of their league campaign. The dates and times of the first seven league matches have been made official: Inter U23 will begin their campaign on Monday 25 August at 20:30 CEST against Novara. The first home game will be played on Sunday 31 August against Pro Patria, kicking off at 15:30 CEST. SERIE C SKY WIFI - THE NERAZZURRI'S CAMPAIGN

IL REGOLAMENTO

Sono 60 le squadre partecipanti alla Serie C Sky Wifi 2025/26, divise in tre gironi da 20 squadre l'uno. Il girone è strutturato con partite di andata e ritorno: ogni formazione giocherà in totale 38 giornate. Al termine della stagione le prime classificate di ogni girone saranno promosse in Serie B: la quarta squadra promossa verrà stabilita dai playoff. Sono 28 i club che parteciperanno ai playoff della Serie C: si qualificano le squadre che si sono classificate dal secondo al decimo posto di ogni girone, più la vincitrice della Coppa Italia Serie C.

Retrocedono in Serie D 9 squadre: tre saranno le ultime classificate di ogni girone, mentre le altre sei verranno stabilite dai playout. Ai playout partecipano le formazioni che si sono classificate in penultima, terzultima, quartultima e quintultima posizione di ogni girone.

Nella Serie C Sky Wifi 2025/26 debutterà anche il Football Video Support, strumento tecnologico innovativo che supporterà gli arbitri durante la direzione di gara. In ogni stadio sarà installato un monitor – gestito da un review operator della CAN C – e gli allenatori avranno a disposizione due card FVS ciascuno da consegnare al quarto ufficiale per richiedere la review dell’azione all’arbitro: se la decisione di campo verrà cambiata la card verrà restituita; in caso contrario, l’allenatore perderà lo slot. I gol verranno comunque revisionati dal quarto ufficiale che, in caso di presunta irregolarità, potrà chiamare il direttore di gara a rivedere l’azione (se l’infrazione è oggettiva, può invitarlo direttamente ad annullare la rete).
