The two most unsellable West Ham players

Imagem do artigo:The two most unsellable West Ham players

West Ham want to be activef in the summer transfer window again this year after failing to fully sculpt their squad last year, but in order to make actual difference-making additions, the Hammers are going to have to sell a number of starting-caliber players in June and July.

But there are some players who need to be untouchable, and, specifically, West Ham have two star players who should not be sold under any circumstances this summer.

The first is obviously Jarrod Bowen. A versatile attacking player who can even play through the middle, Bowen is a starting-caliber player for the England national team and is one of the most underrated footballers in Europe and one of the best left-footed right wingers in the continent - not just the Premier League.

Tied for the team lead with seven goals, Bowen is West Ham's talisman and their main guiding force in important games, even going back to the 2023 Conference League Final. In the prime of his career, Bowen cannot be sold at any price.

Max Kilman is the breakout star

Next up is center back Max Kilman, who, in just his first season at the club since signing from Wolves, is rapidly becoming the defensive equivalent of Bowen. Kilman is also unsellable and is the strongest piece of a West Ham defense that has a couple of other quality pieces.

Kilman has been one of the best performing center backs in the Premier League this season with 1.1 interceptions per game to just 0.8 tackles per match and 0.1 dribbles completed allowed. No player in English football has been dribbled past less than Kilman, who is also averaging 5.1 clearances and 1.1 blocks per game.

He puts his body on the line for the team to block shots and is a no-nonsense defender who scarcely has to make a tackle because his reading of the game is so brilliant. Kilman is a brick wall and just as much of a leader in the West Ham side as long-time starters Bowen and Tomas Soucek.

In just one season, Kilman has joined Bowen, the unquestioned best West Ham player right now, as one of the two truly unsellable players on the team. These two men are in the primes of their careers and are players West Ham can build their attack and defense around under Graham Potter's management. There will be a sea of change this summer, but they are not going anywhere.
