That player would be Odin Thiago Holm who has now been loaned out to former club Valerenga not long after a disappointing loan spell in the MLS with LAFC.
Odin was signed from Valerenga back in the summer of 2023 as he became the first signing in the second spell of Brendan Rodgers, for a fee reckoned to be in the region of £2.6 million, and was heralded as a star of the future. Indeed he was named on a prestigious list of stars of the future by the Guardian newspaper, alongside names such as Jamal Musiala, and Florian Wirtz.

But unfortunately for the 23 year old midfielder, he’s yet to hit the heights expected of him, being reduced to just 16 appearances in all competitions since his arrival in Glasgow.
Odin was loaned out to the MLS in a bid to get him some game time and show what he’s truly capable of, but much like his time in Glasgow, he failed to make an impression in the much sunny climate of California.
Much of the players woes are down to an unfortunate medical condition that’s hampered his career.

Odin has a rare condition that affects his calves and makes him feel ‘half paralysed’ during games. So much so that he’s even required Botox injections just to keep playing.
It’s a sad decline of a player who promised so much, even though one of the main reasonings was out of his control.

I can’t see Odin having much of a future at the club, even though he’s contracted until 2028. Let’s hope he gets his career back on track back in his homeland, he deserves that much.
