Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch opened his 2025/26 account for Wydad Athletic Club.
With the Moroccan giants a goal down in the second half, the South African international leveled matters six minutes after the restart to salvage a crucial point.
As a result, Wydad moved up to fourth place on the Botola Pro League standings, having accumulated four points from the first two league outings.
Meanwhile, Lorch, who completed a permanent transfer to the Red Castle from Sundowns, will be eager to maintain momentum for the remainder of the season.
The 31-year-old spent the latter part of the last campaign on a season-long loan at Wydad, catching the eye with impressive performances, including scoring in the FIFA Club Word Cup against Juventus.
During his loan spell in Casablanca, Lorch made 17 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with three goals in the process.
Now, with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether the playmaker can play himself into Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad.
