The Blues suffered a humiliating 8-2 aggregate defeat to PSG in the Champions League last 16, which raised questions about the future of some of the club’s top stars.

Chelsea still have a lot to play for over the last eight games as they try to secure a top five finish, whist they have an FA Cup quarter final against Port Vale after the international break.

Liam Rosenior on rumours top players could leave in the summer

Fernandez appeared to plunge his future into doubt after the PSG game, as he refused to guarantee he’d still be at the club next season.

The Argentine is said to be open to a move to La Liga, with Real Madrid thought to hold interest, whilst there’s been a number of rumours over Palmer’s future.

Whether the Blues qualify for the Champions League could have a big impact, but Rosenior insists his top players aren’t planning an exit.

“I have a very, very good relationship with the players because we speak all the time,” he said as quoted by The Standard.

“Not just about football, or the situation with their contracts, but about their life, with their kids, how their kids are, how school is. I have a very, very close relationship with Enzo and with the other players.

“In terms of contracts and where they want to be, there’s not one player at this club since I’ve been here that has said that he doesn’t want to be here in the summer.”

Exciting conversations with sporting directors

Chelsea face a huge summer, with the quality of the squad desperately needing to be improved, but fans have very little trust in the sporting directors.

The Blues are said to be in the market for a centre back, whilst they reportedly want to add another midfielder and an attacker.

Rosenior has said he’s excited by conversations he’s had with the sporting directors, but only time will tell whether the Blues will take the action required this summer.
