Thiago Motta became only the fifth permanent Juventus manager to avoid defeat in their first 13 Serie A games at the helm. Indeed, the record-time Italian champions held arch-rivals Milan to a tepid 0-0 draw at Stadio San Siro on Saturday evening, protecting the air of invincibility under the ex-Bologna chief of staff.
“I think overall a point is valuable, can give a sense of consistency, and I am glad to see a team that behaves like a big club. I am proud of my players after a good performance in our circumstances.“
Despite maintaining his undefeated Serie A start in charge of Juventus, yesterday’s result at San Siro marked Juve’s seventh draw in 13 top-flight fixtures this season. However, his side’s inability to convert stalemates into victories doesn’t concern Motta.
“It is inevitable people will make comparisons to last season, but also impossible because so much has changed,” the Juventus coach continued. “We should be pleased with what we have done so far, but we’re not even halfway through the campaign.
