Thiago Silva took injection for neck pain before Bahia clash

Scorer of the goal that secured Fluminense’s qualification over Bahia in the Copa do Brasil last Wednesday (10), captain Thiago Silva revealed that he took an injection before the match to relieve neck pain caused by repeatedly practicing the set piece that resulted in the goal for the Tricolor.

“From yesterday (Tuesday, 9) to today (Wednesday, 10), I had an incredible stiff neck because we practiced a lot of set pieces… I’m holding my neck because I can’t even turn it properly. I had to take an intramuscular injection to be a bit more comfortable during the game. Every time I headed the ball, I got desperate, but thank God this pain wasn’t for nothing. In the end, we were rewarded with a great goal and qualification. I’m sure everyone is happy today.” – emphasized the defender.
