Thomas Frank says he is hopeful that striker Dominic Solanke will be back available after the international break, having missed Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

Evanilson scored the only goal of the game as Spurs were handed their first defeat of the season.

Solanke missed out because of an ankle issue which he has been managing since pre-season, but Frank hopes he will be able to fully recover soon.

“I’m hopeful that he will be back after the international break,” he said.

“Sometimes it takes a bit of a longer time. It’s not like he re-injured it again. If you have a muscle injury maybe you can but it’s nothing to do with that.

“It’s not progressing as quickly as we hoped for but we are still positive it can be solved in the next two weeks.”

Frank also ruled out Spurs bringing in another striker before the window shuts.

“Not particularly,” he said when asked if he was hoping to sign one. “I think to have three strikers in the squad can also cause a problem, they can only play one at a time.

“It’s a fine balance. I’m not saying we will never go for another striker at another time but I’m happy with Dom and Richy (Richarlison).”

Spurs had won their first two league games under Frank, who admits his side did not hit the level required to be deserving of a victory.

“I don’t think we hit the level we should,” he said. “I think the players gave everything which is the foundation, they put their heart out there but football wise we didn’t hit a top level today.

“None of our front players hit a high level. It happens. I don’t want to say it’s okay, but it’s natural.”
