Thomas Müller magic sends Vancouver Whitecaps top of West | OneFootball

Thomas Müller delivered in a major way Saturday night.

The Germany and Bayern Munich legend struck deep into second-half stoppage time, lifting Vancouver Whitecaps FC to a 2-1 win at Orlando City that moved his side atop the Western Conference standings.

Ahead of Decision Day next weekend, Vancouver's 63 points are three clear of expansion side San Diego FC (60).

Müller helped extend Vancouver’s unbeaten streak to 11 matches across all competitions (7W-0L-4D run). He took several touches before his low blast deflected past Orlando goalkeeper Pedro Gallese in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time (97').

The winner came after Nelson Pierre leveled in the 81st minute with his first MLS goal, cancelling out Dagur Thorhallsson’s first-half opener at Inter&Co Stadium.

Since signing with Vancouver in early August, Müller has 11 goal contributions (7g/4a) in seven matches across all competitions. He also helped the Whitecaps capture a fourth straight Canadian Championship, giving them a 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup spot.

Next Saturday, Vancouver host FC Dallas to conclude their regular-season campaign (9 pm ET | MLS Season Pass, Apple TV+). They're guaranteed the West's No. 1 seed with a win, giving them a major boost for the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs.
