Ahead of their Monday night clash with Everton, Manchester United's preparations have been hampered by a significant setback in their defensive and attacking ranks. Manager Rúben Amorim confirmed a trio of key absences that will test the squad's depth.

The treatment room at Carrington has become a familiar place for defender Lisandro Martínez, though a glimmer of hope emerges as the Argentine international is reportedly on the cusp of a first-team return. His central defensive partner, Harry Maguire, will also be sidelined, leaving a considerable void at the heart of United's backline.

Further compounding Amorim's selection headaches, striker Benjamin Šeško is set for a spell on the sidelines. While the manager downplayed the severity of the issue, he indicated the forward could be out for several weeks. "Šeško will be out for a few weeks, I’m not sure exactly how long. But it’s nothing too serious," Amorim stated, offering a tentative timeline that suggests a return around the period when other players depart for the African Cup of Nations.

This news comes at a pivotal moment as the Red Devils travel to face Everton on November 25th. Currently positioned seventh in the Premier League with 18 points from their first 11 outings, the absence of these pivotal figures will demand a resilient performance from the remaining squad members as they seek to climb the table.
