On the back of an inspiring victory over Sporting during midweek, Dortmund had a fiery start to the game in Bochum and had multiple opportunities to grab an early lead. However, as the first half went by, the Black and Yellows showed the same vulnerabilities they have had all season and easily allowed Bochum to score twice in quick succession around the half-hour mark.
A lack of aggression in pressing allowed the hosts to orchestrate a great move that was tapped home by Giorgos Masouras before the Greek forward added another capitalizing on an erroneous pass by Niklas Sule. With Dortmund sitting 11th in the Bundesliga table now, it seems the club's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League are slowly fading away.
