England have lost Tino Livramento to a calf injury on the eve of their World Cup opener against Croatia on Tuesday, kick-off 22:00. The Newcastle full-back has been ruled out of the tournament.

According to The Telegraph, Thomas Tuchel should call Trevoh Chalobah to take Livramento's place in the squad.

The Chelsea centre-back, 26, has one cap for the Three Lions and offers a different profile to Livramento.

Livramento was mainly used on the right for his club this season, yet he can operate on either flank and was not expected to start.

He has endured a difficult campaign, marked by several injuries, and appeared behind Reece James on the right and Nico O'Reilly on the left.
