Eight. That’s all the rounds left in this Roshn Saudi League season.

All that separates one club from the ultimate glory.

But here’s another number: seven. That is the number of points that currently separates the top four, all of whom still harbour ambitions of lifting aloft silverware this season.

As the 2025-26 RSL campaign comes to a close, we run the rule over those in contention and look ahead to the key fixtures, and the pivotal players, that could decide this most thrilling title fight.

1st - Al Nassr (67 points)

As frontrunners, the title is, effectively, in Al Nassr’s hands. With only eight games left, and a three-point lead at the top of the table, Al Nassr are in pole position for a first championship in eight years.

Having gone through a little wobble at the beginning of 2026, staying winless in four straight games to cede control of the league, they had at one point fallen seven points behind Al Hilal.

Their current run of 12 straight wins, however, has catapulted Al Nassr back to the summit, as Jorge Jesus’ side have rediscovered the form that made them look almost invincible to start the season.

Key Players: Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Simakan

Key Fixtures: Al Ahli (H) MW30, Al Qadsiah (A) MW31, Al Hilal (H) MW32

Managerial Might: In Jesus, Al Nassr have a manager who knows what it takes to win the RSL having done so in record-breaking style with Al Hilal two seasons ago. Is the Portuguese their secret weapon?

Standout Stat: Al Nassr have scored more goals in the final 15 minutes than any other team this season (24) and have gained the most points through goals scored in the final quarter-hour (+7).

2nd - Al Hilal (64 points)

It wasn’t that long ago that Al Hilal almost had one hand on the trophy. Their win in the Capital Derby against Al Nassr in Matchweek 15 extended their lead to seven points and they weren’t far off being out of sight such was their form: a run of 13 straight victories that looked almost unstoppable.

Remarkably, just a few short months later, Al Hilal find themselves three points off the pace all while still not having lost a game all season. Their advantage disappeared amid a run of three straight draws - and five draws in seven games. Can they come from behind once again?

Key Players: Ruben Neves, Salem Al Dawsari, Karim Benzema, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Key Fixtures: Al Taawoun (H) MW27, Al Nassr (A) MW32, Neom (H) MW33

Managerial Might: Appointed last summer, the much-vaunted Simone Inzaghi could become the second manager in three seasons to guide Al Hilal to an undefeated season - but will it be enough?

Standout Stat: Al Hilal have lost only seven of their past 100 games in the RSL, stretching back to the end of the 2022-23 season.

3rd - Al Ahli (62 points)

For a long time, Matthias Jaissle’s side were the form team in the competition, but a 3-2 defeat to Al Qadsiah last time out - incredibly, they conceded twice in stoppage time - ended their 15-match unbeaten run. Consequently, they dropped valuable points in their pursuit of silverware.

Still, with a favorable draw - five of their final eight games come against teams in the bottom half of the table, and only one game against the top four teams - a first title since 2016 remains very much within their grasp if those above them trip up in the run home.

Key Players: Ivan Toney, Riyad Mahrez, Roger Ibanez, Franck Kessie

Key Fixtures: Al Fateh (H) MW29, Al Nassr (A) MW30, Al Taawoun (A) MW32

Managerial Might: Little more than 12 months ago, Jaissle was reportedly at risk of losing his job. However, now he is an Asian champion and has Al Ahli in the race for a first league crown in a decade.

Standout Stat: Ivan Toney has scored 25 goals this season to lead the race for the golden boot. If he scores two more this season, he will equal RSL all-timer Omar Al Somah’s club record for most by an Al Ahli player in a single season (27).

4th - Al Qadsiah (60 points)

Despite being seven points off, Brendan Rodgers’ side are the form team in the RSL at the moment.

Since the Northern Irishman was appointed in December, the Al Khobar side are yet to lose a game. And, while they have a lot of ground to make up, their stunning comeback 3-2 win against Al Ahli in Matchweek 26 keeps them in the race - especially with some huge fixtures still to come.

Key Players: Julian Quinones, Mateo Retegui, Musab Al Juwayr, Nacho

Key Fixtures: Al Ettifaq (A) MW27, Al Nassr (H) MW31, Al Ittihad (A) MW34

Standout Stat: Al Qadsiah have the most prolific attacking duo in the RSL this season (39 goals), with golden boot-chasing Quinones scoring 24 and Retegui 15. They also possess the competition’s top-scoring trio, with Nahitan Nandez hitting seven goals this term.
