Chelsea are right in the hunt for Champions League qualification and Matt Law has revealed internally where the club feel they need to be to have a chance of achieving that.
The Blues ground out a hard fought win against Leicester, with Marc Cucurella scoring the only goal of the game as they moved back into the top four.
Chelsea now sit fourth, two points ahead of Manchester city and Newcastle in the race for Champions League football, with just six points separating third and eighth.
The Blues have been absent from Europe’s Premier club competition for the last two years, and will desperately be hoping to qualify this season.
Enzo Maresca insisted on multiple occasions this season he wasn’t told Champions League qualification was the target, only to change his mind and insist it was.
Chelsea face a very difficult run in starting with Sunday’s trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal, whilst they still have to play Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.

John Obi Mikel has shared his concerns about the run in, and with difficult fixtures coming up six points against Southampton and Leicester were absolutely vital.
Maresca sent a message to fans on Instagram asking for support in the race for Champions League football, and Law has revealed internally where the Blues need to be to ensure a good chance of qualification.
“I’m going to give you a little exclusive,” he told the London Is Blue Podcast.

“I know internally at Chelsea they have been doing a little bit of data modelling over the last few weeks and the data modelling they came up with suggested that they needed at minimum to finish before the international break with at least 49 points.
“So the Leicester win, albeit not convincing and not particularly impressive in many respects, has been viewed as very important internally because they’ve hit what their data modelling suggested at bare minimum they needed to be on going into that international break to really give them a good chance of Champions League qualification, so that win was viewed as a big win. “
