FC Bayern have had to cope with another departure from their own youth ranks. Adin Licina is leaving the German record champions to continue his career at Juventus Turin. The 19-year-old’s move has been officially confirmed

Adin Licina has decided to take his next career step not in Munich, but in top international soccer. The junior international, who was one of the key players in FC Bayern’s second team in the first half of the season, is joining Juventus Turin. His contract at Säbener Straße would have expired next summer

Both clubs confirmed the transfer on Monday. In Turin, the attacking player signed a long-term contract until the end of June 2029. In the official announcement, Juventus praised the Munich-born player’s finishing ability and versatility in particular

Freund classifies his departure

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund bid farewell to the home-grown talent with words of appreciation: „Adin Licina came to FC Bayern as a young talent, was developed at our campus and is now looking for his way in top international soccer. We wish him all the best for the future,“ the Austrian explained on fcbayern.com

The departure is one in a series of personnel decisions in which talented campus players decide to move abroad at an early stage. Italian clubs in particular have recently been keeping a closer eye on Bayern’s youngsters

Despite his young age, Licina has already been one of the defining figures in Bayern’s regional league team. This season, the attacking player has made 16 appearances for FC Bayern II, scoring one goal and setting up five others, as well as four games in the UEFA Youth League for the U19s, including one goal and one assist

His strengths lie above all in his attacking flexibility. Licina can play on both the right and left wing, but is also comfortable in the role behind the strikers. It is precisely this profile that made him interesting for top international clubs

Rumors have been circulating for months

There had been signs for some time that Licina could leave FC Bayern. The Gazzetta dello Sport first reported concrete interest from Italy back in December 2025. At the time, AC Milan were considered the hottest candidates, but Juventus were also mentioned early on as possible suitors

In Munich, a departure was expected internally, especially as an extension beyond the summer became increasingly unlikely. According to reports, FC Bayern would only pay a manageable transfer fee for the move, but in return would secure a sell-on fee or contractual options for the future

Licina’s departure is painful from Bayern’s sporting point of view, but fits in with the current reality in the youth sector. The campus regularly produces highly talented players, but cannot show every talent a clear path to the professional squad. For Licina, the move to Turin means the chance to develop further on the international stage

Whether the move will pay off in the long term remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: FC Bayern is losing another of its own talents – and Juventus is securing a player who many observers believe can make the leap to a higher level.
