Leeds United’s only senior goalkeeper, Lucas Perri, has emerged as a summer option for Torino.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Torino are seeking a new goalkeeper and have added Perri to a list that also features Aaron Ramsdale and Paraguay’s Orlando Gill.
Perri joined from Olympique Lyonnais last summer in a £16million deal, signed to become first choice. His debut season disappointed and he slipped behind Karl Darlow.
The Brazilian started 16 Premier League games, the last in January. Consecutive errors against Manchester United and Newcastle cost him the shirt, and his four subsequent outings came in the FA Cup.
As it stands Perri is Leeds’ only option. Darlow, Illan Meslier and Alex Cairns are out of contract, although an agreement is believed to be in place with Cairns.
Leeds have offered Darlow a new deal, but Manchester United and Everton are also thought to have tabled proposals, and the experienced Welsh international is weighing up his options.
Meslier is due to join Premier League champions Arsenal. If Darlow also departs, Leeds face a major reset in the position this summer.
Recruitment plans are under way and Japan international Zion Suzuki is admired, though an active pursuit is not thought to be under way. Leeds could also look at Manchester City’s department, but James Trafford would attract competition and a £40m price tag has been mooted.
