Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank is a massive fan of Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo, having coached him for six years.

The Spurs boss was asked whether he’d have loved to sign Mbeumo ahead of the Red Devils this summer.

Tottenham were reportedly interested in the forward before his £72 million switch to Old Trafford.

Mbeumo chose Man United over Tottenham despite the Dane trying to convince him about a move to London.

“He is a very good player,” Frank said (via football.london). “He’s playing for Man United, and I’m very happy for him.”

“For me, looking from the outside, maybe a little bit biased, I think he’s been their best offensive player.

“He can create, he can score, he works hard, and he’s a team player. He’s the perfect example of a player who is confident but humble. He’s a top player.”

“He’s close to being the complete winger. He’s got pace, he can dribble, he can cross the ball, he can score goals, he can arrive in the last line, and he works incredibly hard. He’s a good team player.”

Mbeumo threat looms as Tottenham seek to stop Man United surge

Tottenham will need to find a way to keep Mbeumo quiet if they are to get anything from today’s clash with Man United.

The in-form winger has just been crowned Premier League Player of the Month for October, a testament to his consistency and growing influence under manager Ruben Amorim.

With five goals and an assist in 11 league appearances this season, Mbeumo has become United’s main attacking spark, combining relentless energy with ruthless finishing.

Spurs will be well aware of his threat cutting in from the right and his ability to exploit defensive lapses.

Frank’s men must close him down quickly and deny him space if they want to secure a result.

Tottenham stand a fighting chance if they stop Mbeumo. Let him play freely. United could easily extend their fine run of three wins and a draw in their last four games if they don’t.
