Tottenham fans have been left furious after the latest rescheduling of their Premier League fixture against Wolves later this month.

However, the match against Wolves was always subject to further potential rescheduling depending on Tottenham’s fixtures for the league phase of this season’s Champions League, which were confirmed after last week’s draw.

That means the game against Wolves has had to move back to September 27, but with an 8pm kick-off time so that it can still be shown on TV, rather than switching back into the 3pm blackout period.

The latest rescheduling of that fixture has led to widespread criticism from Spurs fans, with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust writing on social media platform X on Wednesday: “Our home fixture with Wolves is now, as many of us feared, to be played at 8pm on Saturday 27th September.

“The broadcasting companies couldn’t care less about match going fans travelling the length and breadth of the country, and many from across Europe. Football without fans is nothing.

“It’s also unfair to @spursofficial and fans who have to travel to the Arctic Circle for a CL fixture on the following Tuesday.”

Their strong stance was echoed by that of the Wolves 1877 Supporters Trust, who wrote: “Couldn't agree more with our colleagues at @THSTOfficial.

“Football without fans is nothing. Empty seats don't look great on TV. Moving games, with short notice, to times that cause the maximum inconvenience for match going fans seems to be normality now.”
