Manchester City could be subject to transfer attention from Tottenham once again, as the North London side turn attentions to another member of Pep Guardiola’s attacking ranks.
After failing in their prolonged pursuit of Savinho in the summer, Spurs appear unwilling to step away from the Etihad entirely as they continue to reshape their attacking options under Thomas Frank.
Manchester City officials stood firm against multiple approaches for the Brazilian winger, ultimately extending his contract and reaffirming his importance to the club’s long-term plans.
That decision forced Tottenham back into the market, where they missed out on other high-profile targets. Their search for attacking reinforcements has been driven by a desire to add pace, versatility, and goal threat across the front line.
City, meanwhile, remain well-stocked in attacking areas following a busy recruitment cycle and the continued development of younger players. Pep Guardiola has repeatedly stressed the importance of competition across his forward line, particularly with a demanding fixture schedule across competitions.
However, Manchester City’s depth has also ensured that fringe or rotational players are regularly monitored by rival clubs, especially those seeking Premier League-proven quality without venturing abroad.
Now, according to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo‘ on X, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘looking’ at the situation and perhaps availability of Egypt international, Omar Marmoush.
The forward has been part of Pep Guardiola’s attacking rotation and offers tactical flexibility, capable of operating centrally or drifting wide when required, since joining the club from Eintracht Frankfurt last January.
While not a guaranteed starter, Omar Marmoush is valued internally for his work rate, pressing intensity, and adaptability – traits that may align closely with Tottenham’s current recruitment profile.
As things stand, there is no indication that Manchester City are actively looking to part ways with the player, nor that any formal contact has been made between the two clubs. However, given Tottenham’s recent persistence during the Savinho negotiations, City may yet need to prepare for further enquiries before the next transfer window.
Much will depend on Pep Guardiola’s evolving plans and how Omar Marmoush fits into the wider squad picture across the season. With City competing on multiple fronts, squad depth remains a priority, and any potential exit would likely require a replacement or internal promotion.
