Tottenham Hotspur are actively looking to sign a new striker before the end of the January transfer window, and they are in talks to sign Stefanos Tzimas.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Spurs are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing the Nurnberg striker.
The Sky Germany journalist claims that Tottenham are engaged in concrete talks and negotiations to sign the highly-rated 19-tear-old youngster.
Spurs, however, need to act quickly, as Aston Villa and Brighton are also in the race for his signature. In fact, Brighton are in pole position to sign him after the player held “very good talks” with Fabian Hürzeler.
The German club are demanding a fee of around £21 million plus bonus payments, which should be within Tottenham’s budget.
Daniel Levy is trying his best to bring in at least one new player before the end of the window with the squad seriously ravaged by injuries.
Signing a new striker has become a priority for Spurs in the next few days, with Ange Postecoglou missing a host of key players such as Dominic Solanke, Timo Werner, James Maddison, and Brennan Johnson.
While Tottenham have held concrete talks, it appears that they have not come up with a solid offer for the young striker as yet.
Spurs are reportedly trying to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich.
The 19-year-old has decided to leave the German giants, and he has already waved goodbye to the home fans.
They have held talks with the German giants regarding a permanent deal, as opposed to a loan move for Tel, who is emerging out as their top priority signing at the moment.
Tottenham are discussing a fee in the region of £50m to sign Tel, who is also being targeted by Arsenal, Chelsea, and Aston Villa.
