Tottenham Hotspur have made an initial approach worth up to £55 million for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as Roberto De Zerbi looks to strengthen his attacking options this summer.
According to CaughtOffside, Spurs have begun exploring a deal for the Nigeria international, although Galatasaray are holding out for a fee closer to £65m for their prolific frontman.
The report claims Tottenham have received internal approval to pursue the transfer and believe agreeing personal terms with Osimhen would not present a major obstacle if negotiations progress.
Osimhen is said to have emerged as one of De Zerbi’s preferred attacking targets as Spurs assess their options in the centre-forward position. The club’s plans could depend on the future of Richarlison, whose contract enters its final year and who has been linked with a move away from north London.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a prolific campaign in Turkey last season, scoring 41 goals and providing 10 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. His form has attracted interest from several leading European clubs, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid also reportedly monitoring his situation.
Despite the reported approach, the deal is far from straightforward. Galatasaray are under no pressure to sell one of their key players, while Tottenham have already invested heavily in the transfer market this summer, meaning further significant spending could depend on player departures.
The report also notes that no official bid or direct club-to-club negotiations have yet taken place, suggesting discussions remain at an early stage despite Tottenham’s interest.
For now, Spurs are understood to be assessing the conditions of a potential deal as they continue their search for additional firepower ahead of the new Premier League season.
