Spurs’ attack were woeful with Xavi Simons again sloppy in possession
Thomas Frank is on the brink of the sack after Callum Wilson’s stoppage-time winner saw Tottenham fall to a 2-1 defeat at home to West Ham.
Crysencio Summerville gave West Ham the lead against the run of play after 15 minutes as his heavily deflected shot wrong-footed Guglielmo Vicario.
Cristian Romero headed Spurs level from Pedro Porro’s right-wing cross in the 64th minute, but it was West Ham who struck at the death to steal all three points as Wilson hooked the ball home from a corner.
Sam Tabuteau was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to rate the Spurs players...
Guglilemo Vicario 6
Made a couple of great saves to keep out a deflected effort from Summerville and a header from Mavropanos. Not strong enough from the corner as Wilson hooked in the winner.
Pedro Porro 6
Too easily beaten as Summerville jinked past him to score the opening goal, but put in an excellent cross for Romero to head home.
Cristian Romero 7
Could not get to grips with Summerville in the first half and picked up a rash yellow card. As he so often does, though, the Spurs captain came to his side’s rescue with an emphatic header.
Micky van de Ven 6
Summerville’s goal was cruelly deflected off the Dutch defender. Made a superb recovery challenge to deny his fellow countryman in the second half.
Ben Davies N/A
Withdrawn inside 20 minutes with a serious-looking knee injury. Spurs’ injury worries just will not relent.
Conor Gallagher 5
A busy performance, but one that peaked with a manic first 15 seconds, as he threw himself wholeheartedly into two challenges. Looked stretched on the break. Could not add the fresh impetus Frank was after.
Archie Gray 6
Some excellent tackles at both ends of the pitch. Struggled in transition and picked up a yellow towards the end of the first half. Came off injured at half-time.
Wilson Odobert 5
Headed straight at Areola after being found free in the area by Tel. Linked up well with Porro down the right, but struggled to beat his man, completing one of his five attempted dribbles.
Xavi Simons 5
His driving runs created problems, but his end product was lacking. There were some concerned looks when he required treatment for an injury in the second half.
Mathys Tel 6
Snatched at a couple of chances, but was Spurs’ brightest spark in attack before being brought off just past the hour mark. Created Spurs’ best opening in the first half and was frustrated to come off.
Randal Kolo Muani 4
Caught napping by Taty Castellanos, who should have headed in from a yard out after getting the run on Kolo Muani. Another difficult afternoon for the French forward, who struggled to offer much in attack.
Djed Spence 6
His close-range effort was well saved by Areola, and he was heavily involved in possession. Made the most recoveries of any player on the pitch.
Yves Bissouma 6
Brought on for his first appearance of the season, he was eager to make an impression. Got into some good shooting positions and won back possession well on a couple of occasions.
Dominic Solanke 4
Still looks rusty after so long out. Struggled to provide any presence up top.
Lucas Bergvall N/A
Came on too late to make any impact on his return from injury.
Unused Subs: Kinsky, Dragușin, Danso, Udogie, Bissouma, Bergvall, Solanke, Scarlett
