Tottenham have been informed of Manchester City’s asking price for Savinho and negotiations will accelerate after this weekend’s Premier League tie, as per reports.
Manchester City welcome the newly-crowned UEFA Europa League winners to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with the north Londoners believed to have tested the waters over a deal for Savinho.
The Brazil international’s head has been turned by interest from north London and after missing Manchester City’s travelling squad for their opening day win over Wolves last week, it remains to be seen if Savinho will make the cut to face Tottenham.
Pep Guardiola cited a fitness issue to explain Savinho’s absence in the buildup to the win at the Molineux Stadium and whilst Manchester City do not wish to sell the 21-year-old attacker, an offer will be considered if it meets the club’s valuation.
Savinho is understood to be unsure of his prospects under Guardiola amidst a period of transition at the Etihad Stadium following the notable summer signings of Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki – as well as the return of Oscar Bobb, who starred on the right side of attack in the recent thrashing of Wolves in his first Premier League start of 2025.
Despite amassing over 3,000 first-team minutes in his premier campaign in England, the former Troyes man is open to the idea of joining forces with Thomas Frank at Tottenham, who are looking for a suitable replacement for departed club legend Son Heung-Min.
Having missed out on Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who is set to join Arsenal despite having agreed to move to Tottenham previously, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has lost further leverage in negotiations with Manchester City for Savinho.
Levy has held Manchester City to ransom during negotiations for Kyle Walker and Harry Kane in the past and there is no doubt within the Sky Blues fanbase that Tottenham will have to pay a premium if they are to secure a deal for Savinho, who is under a long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The Times are reporting that Tottenham have been put off by Manchester City’s £67 million asking price for Savinho but negotiations between the clubs will pick up pace following their upcoming Premier League meeting.
City are expected to stand firm on their valuation as Tottenham deliberate over matching the Premier League leaders’ demands or potentially moving onto other targets as they enter the final weeks of the transfer window.
Savinho is not understood to have downed tools or handed in a transfer request and with the Manchester City attacker training individually as he works towards full fitness, there is no rush at the Etihad Stadium to accept a low-ball offer.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have identified Real Madrid’s Rodrygo – valued at €100 million in the Spanish capital – as a potent addition to their frontline should Savinho join Tottenham. However, there have been indications this week that officials at the Etihad Stadium have decided against allowing a move to happen in this transfer window.
